Hackney Community Orchestra

I have been musical director of this group since September 2017. The orchestra is open to anyone on any instrument. We play a wide variety of music and give occasional performances.

Workshops and other projects

Areas of interest include:

Improvisation - workshops which enable everyone to experiment with improvisation in a safe environment and to develop confidence and fluency in music-making. 

Group composition - developing creative music-making and bringing participants' ideas together into compositions that they can perform successfully.  

Playing together - working with any combination of instrumentalists, at any level of ability and experience, creating arrangements of music which enable them to perform together. 

Singing groups - workshops where people at any level of experience or confidence can join in, sing in unison or harmonies, and generally experience the joy of singing together.
