Workshops and projects

I offer a range of workshops, projects and CPD for teachers and musicians working in education, mainly focusing on the following areas of music-making:

Improvisation.

I run workshops which enable everyone to experiment with improvisation in a safe environment and to develop confidence and fluency in music-making.  Activities can be tailored to suit any level of musical experience, and will generally consist of group improvisation, with opportunities for paired and solo playing as appropriate.  Workshops are led in a supportive way, helping participants to overcome any residual fears or anxieties they may have about improvising.

Mixed instrumental ensembles.
I enjoy working with any combination of instrumentalists, at any level of ability and experience, creating arrangements of music which enable them to perform together.  I use a lot of popular tunes, folk tunes and music from around the world as well as some of my own compositions. Read more

Singing groups.
I firmly believe that everyone can sing, and like to run workshops where people at any level of experience and confidence can join in, sing harmonies, and generally experience the joy of singing together.  Read more
